Blues fans and guitar lovers in Middle Tennessee have a date to circle, American blues guitarist Albert Cummings takes the stage at The Franklin Theatre in Franklin, Tennessee on Sunday, April 12, 2026. We’ve reached out to Albert for an interview and are looking forward to connecting with him ahead of the show.
Cummings has spent his career earning a reputation as one of the more compelling live blues performers working today. His fretwork is fiery without being showy, his vocals are soulful without being overwrought, and his ability to hold a room comes from decades of honest work on the road. This is blues playing rooted in tradition but never stuck in it.

The Franklin Theatre is a beautifully restored 300 seat room on Main Street that has been a cultural anchor for the region since reopening in 2011. Intimate, warm, and acoustically excellent — it is exactly the kind of room where blues music makes the most sense.
If you are in the Nashville area this is one to put on the calendar early. Good rooms, real blues, and with any luck a conversation with Albert coming soon right here on MTNM.news.
