I was recently invited to Dweezil Zappa’s recording studio to attend the recording of an interview with the incredibly talented Michael Lee Firkins, whom I had the pleasure of meeting for the first time. With any luck, a conversation about his next release is on the horizon thanks to my friends at J Rockett Pedals. Walking into that studio and taking in the cameras, lighting, and overall production setup was a genuine thrill.

For those of us who have quietly replaced traditional TV with YouTube, channels like Dweezil’s are exactly why. As the son of the legendary Frank Zappa, Dweezil has spent decades honing his craft and in recent years has turned that expertise into a compelling digital destination built on performance, education, and genuine passion for the instrument. Dweezil is all personality — and that comes through in every frame.

The channel is a deep well — live performances, studio sessions, technique breakdowns, tone chasing, and musical history all in one place. If you play guitar or just love it, you will find yourself three hours in wondering where the afternoon went.
For musicians and aficionados alike, @TheDweezilZappa is appointment viewing — the kind of channel that reminds you why YouTube beat television. Dweezil is the ultimate host and this visit made me an even bigger fan. Subscribe, watch, and fall down the rabbit hole. You won’t regret it.
